steps to set up a B2D job using a external harddrive

I am confused about all the steps to set up a simple job so what is veritas suggestion to get this work?

FULL backup every day to external USB harddrive.
APPEND until the harddrive has no more space (start overwriting at the oldest job).
Continue if the harddrive has been REPLACED by a new one (without any questions).

after reading all this articles i am not sure if i should:

create a REMOVABLE or non-removable B2D folder?
SIZE of the B2D files?
OVERWRITE PROTECTION- and APPEND PERIOD?
necessary to create a new B2D folder when REPLACING the harddrive (copy CHANGER.CFG FOLDER.CFG)?

thanks!

On the Zip drive I have, I create a Removable backup to disk folder. I don't use it to often though. The size shouldn't matter because if it fills up the removable disk, it would ask for a new one (like a tape).

Overwrite and Append you can set just as you would a tape. User preference.

I believe the fact you create a removable backup to disk folder will cause the correct changer and folder cfg files to be created automatically when you change the media in the removable backup to disk folder.

Hi,

If you are using an external Usb harddrive, then you have to create a removable Backup to Disk folder in order to backup the data on it.

Please refer to the Technotes given below :
