version 10 media server AOFO/remote client - transfer to a Win2008 servr

HI

We are about to add a Win2008SP2 member server into our 2003 AD domain.

Our media server has the AOFO installed and I read that the included Remote client can be uninstalled on the media server and reinstalled on a remote server.

Does anyone know if it can be installed on win2008 server?

Windows Server 2008 SP2 requires v12.0 for a media server or RAWS

Looks like it's time to upgrade your BackupExec software

Also you can't uninstall the remote agent software on a media server (it is integral to the local operation of the media server)

If you want to backup a remote (windows) server (with any current version of Backup Exec) then you must have a remote Agent license and install the remote agent software into the remote server.
