viewing an audit log sent via email

I have a job set up to monitor changes made to backup jobs and selection lists in BE 10.0. It is configured to send an email with the log as an attachment. I am receiving the log properly but cannot read it. The entire log is just a bunch of characters - unreadable. I have tried using both the TXT and HTM attachment options and both turn out unreadable.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

I do not get any errors. I actually receive the audit log. however it is not in a readable format. the below is a copy of what i receive. i have tried opening the report with many different applications and get the same results as below. this is just a sample of what the entire report looks like.
