Hi,
How did you do this? Via an Enterprise Server Option (CASO) or copy/paste, or replicated via storage?
If anything but ESO, then BE on the remote end would have no knowledge of the media being replicated.
Thanks!

Hello Aiko,
Could you please give more information the setup?
What data is replicated?
What is the Operating system of the two servers between which data is getting replicated?
What replication technology is used here?
Also are you able to see the replicated data on the physical target location?
Thanks,

Hi Sush,
thanks for writing. In this thesis all three Servers have Windows 2008 R2. Server A is a Fileserver replicates Data to Server B with agent for Win is also a Fileserver, Server C is the mediaserver BE2012.

Hello Aiko,
So you mean that replication is done by Windows or any third party application. And then Backup Exec (from Server C) is not able to see the replicated data on Server B...???
Thanks,

Hi Sush,
jupp replicated by Windows to Server B and Server C with Be2012. In the Choosing Menu of the Servertree there you could see the replicated data but after the saving the saved stuff is empfty in Be2012 0 files saved...

Hello Aoki,
Are the files accessable on Server B?
Also do you see an exceptions in the Job log ablout file being skipped?
If possible please upload the job log of the backup job.
Thanks,
-Sush...

Hi Sush,
yes there are accessable on Server B and selectable in BE2012 and in the joblog there is no expeption. There is written 0 files saved in 2 folders 624 Byte in 1 Second. 0.036 MB/Min.

...then there is every chance that BE is unaware of the data that was replicated outside of BE...
Symantec's best practice is to do this through BE...in this case you'd need BE 2012 Enterprise Server Option with CASO.
You would replicate the data from 1 server to the other via CASO, which updates server 2 with catalog information etc. This enables you to restore from Server 2 if need-be.
Thanks!

Hello CraigV,
Here Aiko is not doind any replication of the backed up data using Windows replication. Its just replication of files on that server and nothing related to Backup Exec.
Also he is not facing issues during restore. But issue is during backups itself its showing as 0 files backed up in the job log. Nothing to do with the restore so nothing related to Catalog.
Thanks,
-Sush...

The job which has backed up server B is it incremental or full.
