Procedures for migrating cluster to different SAN

I'm hoping that somebody can point me to some information on how to migrate a VCS cluster to a different SAN. We have several Windows and Linux clusters (Storage Foundation HA 4.3 w/MP1 ) that are currently on StorageTek and Xiotech SANs and we need to migrate them to our new HItachi. We have a good grasp on drivers and whatnot but just need help on migrating the disk groups.

Your help is appreciated.

Several possibilities. First you want to create LUNs on the Hitachi that are zoned for the hosts. Then do a rescan from VEA or "vxdctl enable" from CLI after instrusting the OS to find the new hardware. You should now see the new LUNs. If not, recheck the zoning. In some cases you may need to reboot if the drivers refuse to spot new hardware. Older Linux could not discover new hardware without a reboot.

Add the new LUNs to the Disk Groups you want to migrate.

Method 1:
Use vxevac (or Evacuate Disk from VEA) to move subdisks to new LUNs.

Method 2:
Add mirrors of current volumes specifying new LUNs as location. Once you are certain that mirroring is complete and the array is stable/usable, drop mirrors from old array.

Clean up: the now-empty LUNs on the old array can be deleted from the Disk Groups. All data has been moved with no downtime.
