VCS and Windows 2003 domain controller

Does VCS 4.x or VCS 5.0 for Windows needs to be installed in a Windows 2003 domain? My system admin experienced some failure when installing the VCS software and she suspects that a Windows 2003 domain controller is required. Can anyone please jusify her doubt?

Yes, VCS must be installed in a domain. You must also have a Domain account for the HAD Helper service. This account needs the ability to make changes to AD thru the LanMan resource.

According to our install instruction in the course, it is either 2000 or 2003 domain.
