DLO installation not detecting remote SQL server

I'm trying to install DLO 9. We do have a shared SQL server, which I would like to use for hosting DLO databases. Whenever I select remote Db Server hostname during DLO installation, it fails to recognize db server. Db Server is listening on 1433 and I can telnet the server on 1433 successfully. Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

Make sure no firewall is blocking the traffic between the servers...but DLO installs with SQL Express which works really well. Why not use that?

Thanks!

Firewalls are disabled.

Local SQL Express option would be chosen if this is not working. I just thought of having all databases in one place.

What version of SQL are you trying to install onto, and is this supported to host the DLO DB? Have you checked you version of DLO's SCL?

I'm trying to install DLO 9.0 SP1. As per it's SCL, SQL Server Enterprise 2014 with SP1 is supported and that's what our general db server running on.

Have you checked the "TCP/Ip and PIPES" are enable?
Have you tried connect to SQL from the other server?
