Difference between DeDupe Storage and DLO Storage

Hi,

i've got a query regarding the difference between the DeDupe Storage folder and the DLO Storage folder.

We have a DLO deployment within our company and we've just compared the storage usage for both folders and found that the staff profiles within the DeDupe Storage folder are topping 20 to 30 GB. However, the same staff are showing around 400 to 500 MB of storage within the DLO Storage folder.

Can somebody provide an explation as to the huge difference?

These people always use the same machines and do not sign into any other machines on the network.

Is the DeDupe Storage folder used for back up versions of files?

I've attached screenshots of difference.

What do the DeDupe Storage and DLO Storage folders do?

Regards,

Derek

Hi,

If the file content is unique, then the content is written to the Dedupe Storage Location.
Metadata having pointers to Dedupe Storage Location is written to the backup file, which is stored in the network user data folder (NUDF) which will be just 1KB file.
Thats why the Dedupe storage location size will be more (as original data will be stored) compared to NUDF size for the deduped backups.

Thanks,
Santosh.
