Archiving restored items

Is it possible to configure the archiving of restored items after some period of time that is different from the policy being applied.

I know it is possible to modify the registry to ignore the restore date which would cause it to be rearchived almost immediately. I'm just wondering if there is any way to have some grace period for restored items.
