Best practice location for Cache and Shopping

Hi!

I would like to get advice what is best practice for location

Cache location: <volume>\EVStorage\Cache
■ Index locations: <volume>\EVStorage\Index
■ Shopping location: <volume>\EVStorage\Cache\Shopping

I have dedicated drive for Index, but do not know what is best practice for Cache and Shopping. If it can be put in EV 8 installation folder or better to get dedicated drive ?

General rules apply - if a location is going to be used a lot, best place to put it is off the system and paging drives.

The cache could be used a lot depending on how many users are VC enabled.

As for shopping that depends on how many users you think are going to use it.

Indexing generally runs best on local or direct attached fast disk.

Can I put on same LUN with Data (mailbox archive location) or better to create another LUN and put in there.

I have no issues with storage space.

You can do. Important thing is you don't want your I/O to be high for your vault store partition data, or your archiving throughput may suffer, and you definitely don't want your I/O to be high for your index location data, or your indexing rate or search rate will suffer.

All archive will be on Netapp storage throught ISCSI connection. Is any formula how to calculate I/O ?
