Hi All

EV 9.0 sp3 running on SQL 2008 R2.

I have a customers SQL DBA's who have noticed that the SQL  compatibility mode is set to 90 (SQL2005). Can he change this to SQL 2008 compatiblity mode, will this effect EV at all?

Thanks

Nope it won't affect it in the slightest, it's always best practice to make sure compatibility modes match the SQL server version, like when going from 2000 to 2005, if compatibility was kept to 2000 the journal archive table wouldn't clear Put it this way, if you were to Install EV fresh on SQL 2008 R2 it would set compatibility to 2008 r2 etc

I woudn't expect any issues with it.

Just to be sure, change it when no other tasks are running on the EV server and make sure to create a backup of all databases before changing anything.

Also check the note in the Compatability list about DB compatibility levels:

Note: Enterprise Vault supports SQL databases only at their default compatibility levels.
