Does EV10 Mac client for Outlook 2011 work with EV9?

Hello,

The compatability matrix says that the EV10 client for Outlook 2011 (Mac) only works against EV10 servers but we have EV9.

Has anyone ever tried it with EV9.0.4?

(I know there's an Entourge client but we're deploying Outlook 2011.)

Should be fairly easy for you to test I should imagine? It's very possible though that it won't work due to things like client registration (though I'm not sure if that's a 10.0 only thing)

Yes it would be easy to test for 5 mins and say that it works. But if someone had already been using it for maybe six months, that would be a slightly better test, wouldn't it?

Can't understand why the client wasn't released before EV10 anyway.

Well even if someone has used it in their environment, that shouldn't take precedence over getting yourself in your own environment, and the fact that its not supported by Symantec means that if you do have an issue with an end user, there's not much you can do Would suggest contacting your symc rep and seeing if the support will be there for 9 SP5 (if there will be such a thing) Other than that, it's all based on priorities I suppose with the macs being a fairly small market share in the enterprise
