EV 9 x32 bit to EV 10 x64 MSCS

We're in the process up planning on upgrading oiut EV 9.0.3 X32 bit on Widnows 2003 to EV 10. One of the things we want to introduce is High Availability. That being said, we were thinking of migration EV 9.0.3 X32 bit on Windows 2003 to EV 10 running on Windows 2008 X64 using Microsoft Clustering.

I wanted to get some opinions on best options as there seems to be a bunch of options.

1. Move EV from X32 bit enviornment to X64 bit enviornment with EV 9 installed using server migration wizard. Perform the upgrade to EV 10. Finally cluster the enviornment as the last step.

2. Move EV from X32 bit environment X64 bit enviornment (MSCS) with EV 9 installed using server migration wizard. Finally upgrade to EV 10.

3. Move EV from x32 bit environment to X64 bit enviorment with EV 10 installed using server migration wizard. Finally cluster the enviornment.

4. Move EV from x32 bit enviornment to a X64 bit enviornment (MSCS) with EV 10 installed.

I'm leaning toward option 1 to keep it as simple as possible as we have 3 EV servers with a lot of data. Please let me know your thoughts if you have performed one of the options above.

Appreciate the time.

I would lean towards option 3, but 1 would be my second choice.  A couple links for you, you probably have them but just in case and also for the next person.  :)

Then follow the steps here to convert EV to a cluster:

I would recomend you to use option 1, as its not that complicated.

It's a coin flip based on two Trusted Advisors opinion. I think due to the lack of internal Clustering experience with 2008, I think we will move forward with Option 1.
