EV DR between Data Centers

Not applicable

We currently have two Data centers and we are currently using emailxtender.

We are moving to Enterprise Vault and will need to be able to fail from one data center and back every 6 months. With EmailXtender this is done with a Windows Cluster journaling erver that are differently named nodes in each datacenter, but hte Virtual server of the clusters are the same name.

I am wondering is this going to be necessary for the EV servers, because I want to make sure the Consultant coming is to build the servers does it correctly.

We are going to building a clustered Mailbox Optimatin server, a single DA server, a clustered Journaling server and a single compliance accelerator on VM (at each Data Center).

Does anyone have any advice

If your storage for your index and Vaults are iSCSI or connected via FCoE then you can use Microsoft Clustering. as the storage connection is via IP

EV has another option which can do a manual fail over and it is called Building Blocks which requires a little user intervention but can fail between data centers

I think the Building Blocks option is the best solution for you
