Dear EV Guru,

One of my customer is running exchange 2007 with EV 7 SP4.  It has been running a few years and the shortcout icon did not appear on the outlook. Howerver, it did appear on the OWA.

I try to create a new form using the procedure below e.g   HR_Form.
After creating the form,  it did appear in the EFORMS REGISTRY

However the HR_Form did not appear under the Microsoft Exchange System
Object? Is this due to exchange courruption because on my outlook client i
cannot see the Organization Library?

What i want to know is that by creating the HR_Form on the exchange system manager, will the objects  ALSO appear under the Microsoft Exchange System object?

On Exchange Server 2003

1 Click Start, Programs, Microsoft Exchange, System Manager.
2 Expand the Organization (Exchange) object.
3 Expand your Administrative Group.
If this is not available, right click your Organization and select Properties.
Then check Display Administrative Groups and click OK.
4 Expand Folders.
5 Right-click Public folders and, on the shortcut menu, click View System
folders. The right-hand pane displays the system folders.
6 In the right-hand pane, right-click EFORMS REGISTRY and, on the shortcut
menu, click New, and then click Organizational Form. A Properties window
appears.
7 Fill in the details on the Properties window.
8 Under E-forms language, select the language that is appropriate to the
forms you are going to install and then click OK to return to the Exchange
System Manager screen.
9 In the right-hand pane, double-click the EFORMS REGISTRY folder.
10 Right-click the folder you just created (Organizational Forms) and, on the
shortcut menu, and click Properties.
11 On the properties screen, click the Permissions tab.
12 Click Client Permissions.
13 Click Add.
14 Click a user name for the account that will be the owner of the forms. This
will usually be the Enterprise Vault Service account.
15 Click the Roles down arrow and, in the list, click Owner.
16 Click OK to return to the Properties screen.
17 Click OK to close the Properties screen.
18 Close Exchange System Manager.

On the Client Machine
1. Open the registry
Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

2. Browse to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Client
3. Right-click on the "Client" key and select New | DWORD value.
4. DWORD Value = DeployFormsLocally
5. Set the DWORD Data value to 2
6. Restart Outlook
When Microsoft Outlook is started, the Enterprise Vault Custom Forms are copied to the Personal Forms Library
Other possible options for DWORD Data value:-
0 - Never deploy forms locally
1 - (Default) Deploy forms only when there is no Organizational Forms Library available
2 - Always deploy forms locally
3 - Always delete Enterprise Vault forms from the user's Personal Forms Library

If Outlook cannot see the forms then its a sync issue or permissions issue between the EFORMS REGISTRY.
Simplest answer however is in EV2007, have the client foce the form deployment, its in the Archiving Policy under the Advanced tab on the Outlook drop down box
This will deploy the forms either deploy them locally if it can't read the eforms or it will do it automatically, definitely the better and easier solution

Agreed with JW2.

Exact steps are
Deploy Forms within the Policy - Version 2007
1. Within the Exchange Policy, click on the Advanced tab.
2. Click on Deploy Forms Locally, click on Modify and select Always.
3. Run a Synchronize on the Exchange Mailbox Archiving Task.

If running Outlook in cached mode you may have to open and close it twice for the forms to sync up.
