Hi,

We are using EV 7.0 on Windows 2003 and everyone using Outlook 2003. Some users get the following famous error when they try to open an archived message

"There was an error loading this item -- some functionality may not be available"

When you click on the error message a small pop up window opens displaying

An internal error occurred on the web server.

CreateObject:424

The following is part of the log trace from a user who's having the problem

06/01/2010 09:23:16.383[5504]: CShortcutItem::Display: 0x0
06/01/2010 09:23:16.383[5504]: CDesktop::CheckIfClientDisabled: 0x0
06/01/2010 09:23:16.383[5504]: ~CDesktop::CheckIfClientDisabled: 0x0
06/01/2010 09:23:16.384[5504]: CShortcutItem::Display...Return Last Failed error: 0x80004005
06/01/2010 09:23:16.385[5504]: ~CShortcutItem::Display: 0x0
06/01/2010 09:23:16.452[5504]: ~::DisplayItem: 0x0

Thoughts are much appreciated

Try going to Search.asp or download.asp
can you find the item and download it from there?

I would normally associate that error with something wrong with the IIS website (i.e. the application pool has stopped, the site stopped etc etc)
