EV Outlook Client

Hello,

I know it's not recommended, but are there any issues/limitations if an Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 client is still running the v7.5.2 EV client when the EV back end is running v9?  Besides not having the functionality offered by the v9 EV Outlook client, will an Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007 user be unable to access their archived content if they're still running the v7.5.2 EV client?

In the EV9 upgrade doc it states that all computers should be running at least the v8 EV Outlook client, but from the testing i've done, 7.5.2 client appears to still work when the back end is running EV9.  Is it truly necessary to upgrade all EV clients to at least v8 prior to rolling out EV9?

Any insight is much appreciated.

Best practice would be to upgrade, and just because its not listed or says not supported in the compatibility guides doesn't mean it may not work, it means that its not supported

So in theory it may work, certain parts may not function, but none of it is 100% guaranteed to function as QA will not have tested the EV2007 client against EV9 as its not supported etc, so if you do find any issues, you can't really request a hotfix for it etc

thanks for your input Jesus...staying current with all software revisions is definitely the preferred way to go, just hoping we can update all clients before needing to implement EV9.

thanks again

Jw2 is correct, it's not a combination that our QA team will have tested... it *should* work, but you'll have "fun" if you try to contact Support :)
