EV8 SP5 Vault Cach sync. via VPN

Hi,

we have some users who work outside the company via umts modems and vpn connection. UMTS traffic is limited to 2 GB for free, with additional fee for further traffic.

Is it possible to avoid addtional costs to turn off vault cache sync. for vpn connections or vault cache itsselfe? I only found restrictions for rpc over http connections in the documentation, but we don't use it for exchange.

No, it's not possible within the product.  Whether your VPN client can block connections to the EV server though when it's active... that's perhaps where to look?

maybe have a script that throttles BITS or disables it when they're not on the local network?

thx for you answers. we have created a new policy where only items which are opened will be downloaded. that should minimize the load.
