Enterprise Vault Upgrade

Hi All

I have a question regarding Enterprise Vault upgrade from 10.0.3 to 11.0.1, what are the possible ways to upgrade the same and if some failure occurred during the In-place upgrade process, how can we revert back to previous configuration.

Hello,

1 stop archiving - set tasks in report mode, restart them. wait for msmq/storagequeu to drop to 0

2 - set vault stores and indexes in backup mode

backup SQL databases (and backup again to be sure :) )

stop ev -services

upgrade to 11.0.1, verify databases upgraded suceesfully. start services, monitor eventlog.

upgrade to CHF5.

when eventlog ok, clear backup mode

When ok, set tasks to normal mode, restart tasks.

If failure, stop services, uninstall 11.0.1

restore databases

install 10.0.3, run configuration, connect to existing database.

if using custom files (shortcut txt, specific language files etc) back these up also before upgrade. what I do before upgrade (after services stopped) is to copy the ..\program files (x86)\enterprise vault\ folder to a temp location. If something fails, you at least have custom files available. do NOT copy this folder back and assume it is ok to restart services. you WILL have to uninstall ev11, reinstall ev10.0.3
