Does Enterprise Vault work with Microsoft ActiveSync and would a user be able to access archived items from their mobile device?

The best you can hope for is to use mobile search piece that comes with ev so users can search and read archived emails, however there are no mobile solutions for archiving email directly from your blackberry or iphone etc

just confirming what JW is saying that the only option is the mobile search page. retrieving shortcuts, archive explorer, virtual vault, manually archiving emails, and all the rest are not available in mobile form.

You should however be aware that displaying the shortcuts content still works. So if you for example include the full mail body in your shortcuts the users on the mobile devices would be able to read the text in the body, but will not be able to access attachments (besides the mobile search which was already mentioned above)
