Error archiving an entire folder from Outlook in cached mode on some clients

We are experiencing a strange issue archiving an entire folder using outlook user extension (full client) with outlook in cached mode but only on some clients.
On some clients works even if cache mode is implemented and in others no. Perhaps in clients where it doesn't work it seems sometimes it works.
All clients are using User extensions 7.5 and all users affected are using the same policy.
When the client fails it doesn't log anything and it only hangs.
The problem doesn't seem to be related to outlook version. We have seen it also in outlook 2003 (all sp levels) and outlook 2007.
We have not implemented Offline Vault.
The EV server version is 7.5.
Any suggestions will be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Try Dtracing the ArchiveTask and StorageArchive amidst archival of this folder.  Post your results for all to see.

This can happen if you archive many Message manually, because a DCOM command will be fired for every mail, somehow overloading client/server.

The suggested archiving strategy is via policy, having the server pulling out the mails.

We have opened a support case and the issue has been resolved.
The problem was the customer has disabled exchange soft deletes. We have re-enabled it and now it works.
Thanks to all.

I have the same problem in out enviroment

Outlook 2007 in cache mode
Exchange 2007
4 domains (1 empty root, 3 domains based on geographical reagions)

In 2 of the 3 domains there are no problems , on owa there is no problem but on one domain the user is able to archive individual items but not entire folders. all workstations have the same image on them so their should not be any differences between the domains.

I have checked that the registery key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options has the option DumpsterAlwaysOn set to 1

Any ideas?
