Failed to recall a Saveset from its Collection Event ID 6838 EV 9

How can I find out what is in a .dvs file?  I have three files that I continuously receive the 6838 Error.  I can open the .cab file with no errors and extract as well.  I thought possibly a minor corruption and ran ACR on the .cab file, no change.  The files reside on our Data Domain tretiary tier.  No virus software involved, no locked files on the DD device.  Any idea on what could be causing this error and how to get rid of it?  I thought about just recalling the files that the .dvs is linked to however I do not know what files those are... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get the same errors, i believe however its related to this technote
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH146514

Regardless though, some things to check
1. Try WhoLockMe on the CAB file to see if it is being held by another process
2. Ensure that Anti-Virus Scan is ignoring the directory and On Access Scanning is disabled for the EV processes
3. Try turning off Opportunistic locking on the EV Server and the server where your files are held

Thank you for the heads up of a known issue.... seems to be the theme lately with Symantec and EV 9.0.

I tried turning off OpLock and issue remains.  The other suggestions you had were already addressed.  :o(

I guess I will wait and see what Symantec comes up with...
