File Archive data drive out of space

Hi all,

We have a File archive server (version EV 11 )and the drive for store data alomst full. we are now purchasing a new HDD for this server.

I would like to know:

1. Can i use Windows Compress function (right click the drive-> click Compress this drive to save disk space)to free out space? if so, will it effect the ev service?

2. Is any way to move existing data to another drive?

Hi Ryan,

Moving a vault store partition on a different drive is very straightforward. Have a look on this technote for the steps: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000028294

I would not recommend using Windows OS compression feature as this may significantly affect the retrieval performance.
