Getting the VaultId from archived file

Is it anyhow possible toe read the VaultId and/or StorageId programatically from an archived file (not opening it)? The problem is, that we have a couple of files in the filesystem that don't have a record in the EV database anymore. So we want to check for each file if the record in the database is still existing or not. If not, we would delete the file (and create a report before).

I think you can contact support and get a utility to help you with this.  Sounds like you need DVS Checker.

None of the Symantec tools is doing what we need. That's the problem.

I found out that the information is maybe stored in the alternative file streams of an ntfs disk. So I tried to get the information out of there but don't know the format etc.

Anyone done this before? Any idea?
