How do I get the Admin Console to work on XP via a VPN connection?

I want to be able to load the EV 8.0.3 Admin Console on my XP SP2 laptop.  I have to remotely connect, via VPN, to the network.  I have installed the prereq's and the Admin Console.  When I start the Admin Console and enter my Directory Service Computer and click OK it errors out - "Could not connect to the Enterprise Vault Directory on...Check that .... is available on the network and that the Enterprise Vault Directory Service is running.  Both of which I know is true.  I am assuming that connecting via VPN is my problem.

it is probably a dns issue, make sure you can resolve the EVAliases

Does it work in the office, without VPN.
DNS might indeed be an issue.
When you cannot reesolve that, create a hostsfile in your laptop, to see if that fixes it.

I suspect it's probably a firewall port issue. There's a knowledgebase article which discusses which ports need to open for most EV operations, but the VAC is simply trying to connect to the Directory Service on the EV server, so I would think it's most likely DCOM
