IMAP Access - Can't access to EV IMAP server

Dear All,

The EV IMAP Endpoint has been enabled, but the MS outlook is not able to connect it from client side.

I see the port 993 is listening at EV server and I can telnet port 993 from client desktop to EV server.

Is there any hint for this connection troubleshooting?

The MS outlook error is "Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to server failed"

I already assigned the username as "domain\username\evID"

Thanks.

Tony

Can you get a DTrace of IMAPServer and see what it says, if the connection attempt is even being made? The fact you can telnet to that port and see it respond with Symantec enterprise vault IMAP server would suggest that at least the connection is good, and it's not a firewall issue either on the client or the server That being said, the fact you have port 993 suggests that you're using SSL certificate, so have you made sure the certificate is installed properly on your IMAP end point and that it's from a trusted authority ?? You may want to look at other email clients such as thunderbird that may give you a bit more information as to why the connection is failing You may also want to enable outlook logging for the IMAP connection too: http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/300479

Hi AndrewB,

rebuit the entire EV 11.

Did you try to use the EV IMAP as the drag and drop archive through MS Outlook if the end users are using ISP POP3?

Thanks.
