Now I wonder if they are going to tell us what the serious issue is, must be a big one to withdraw it from circulation.  It would also be good to know what the issue is, especially if anyone has installed SP4 - so they know what to look out for.

That is bad news.

Curious to learn what the issue is, and hope they are able to warn admins to not install it!

Thanks for posting. I asked Glenn to make this a sticky in the forum...

We uncovered a memory corruption issue which could lead to reliability issues which is the reason the kit was pulled. The risk of encountering the issue is very small, but the right decision was for us to pull the kit. We pulled as soon as we are aware of the issue which meant the corresponding tech note was not ready at that time. It is now being finalised and should be published later today. Someone from Symantec will update this thread later.

To Gertjan's point, if you have downloaded the existing 9.0.4 kit then it should not be installed. If anyone has installed, then they should contact Symantec support.

If you want to peruse all of the fixes & features that were introduced across all versions of V9 then please have a read of the following article. You can download a version of the update.htm file we normally ship with each release that will help you easily peruse all the update files from a single & easy to navigate file. However, this is very much a trial that we want to try out and get your feedback on, we need to establish if this is something that our customers & partners will value.
