Managed Custom Folders - Same to archive as "managed folders"?

Hello, I am just wondering if I create a "managed custom folder" in Exchange 2007 (Client = Outlook 2007 SP2), if "Length of retention period" is "5" days, is this where I would assume that Enterprise Vault (8.0.3) syncs using the "Archive Exchange Managed Folders = Managed" portion of the advanced policy properties?

If this is wrong could you please clarify if it is possible to use "Managed Custom Folders", or if I have to find a way using EVPM (I have never used this either but my initial searching leads me to believe this could be another way..?)

So do I need to specify anything special in the

"Retention period starts:" dropdown

or:

"Action to take at the end of retention period:"

??

I am planning on setting up a folder for "1 year", "2 year", "3 year", and if all i have to do is specify the retention period in days then I would be thrilled!
