Moving Enterprise Vault for Exchange to new hardware

Is the disaster recovery scenario the best way to move the vault data and start it up on new servers? Do the servers need to be named the same? I can't find a doc to do this on the website, does anyone know where it exists?

This has been discussed before. You might want to search the Forum. General feelings are that DR is the best option but it depends what kind of disk you've stored your Vault Stores on (local, fibre, network). If you've used DNS aliases 9as per reccomended practice) your servername won't matter you just re-map the CNames.

If you have V6 look in the documentation folder of the CD. There's an administrator's guide that covers DR. It's under the recovery section. It's a step by step guide on how to run a DR.

For V5 it's in the operations guide which unfortunately doesn't come with the software. Usually the person who did you install is responsible for giving you a copy.
