Moving FSA from one server to another

Hi,

I'm running EV 6 SP4 and I need to move the FSA process from one EV physical server to another EV server because we are moving it to new hardware to increase performance.

How do i do this?

Haven't got a solution for this in EV6.
In EV7/2007 you could do this with FSAUtility, I think.

Would it be an option to upgrade EV prior to move it?

So there is no way to move the FSA task from one server to another (i know in v6 FSA is not a task but unable to find a better word for the process)

What did customers do when they needed to change hardware?

Yes, there is no "standard" way.
You would have to recall all Elements and move them to the new Server if you want to do it in Version 6.

Ah ok I think i have phrased my question incorrectly.

I'm using FSA and it is doing a copy and reset so i'm not shortcutting. Basically i'm tking a copy of the files and putting them into my archive.

Now I dont want to move the files on the file server.

I want to move the task on the EV server that performs the FAS from one EV server to another. I want the data to continue to being archived into the same vault store I just want a different EV server to take over the task of performing the FAS
