NBU Fails when backing up Archived File Server

Has anyone come across  NBU timing out when trying to connect to a File Server where the Placeholder Service has been installed? I don't have any event logs, but this is EV  2007 and the File Server is Windows 2003 SP1.

I don't have any information on the NBU configuration, I was hoping that someone may have seen this behavior before.
