New Front-end server - buttons not appearing

SimonC

I've installed a new front-end server but whenever someone logs into it, they don't see the enterprise vault buttons. I've installed the front-end extensions and ran the script without issue.

If they log into the old front-end server they see the buttons.

Any ideas?

Compare the number of the controls folders, 6.5.XXXX.X between the front End and the back End (they need to have the same highest number!  Ensure that this highest number is supported (see the compatability matrix).

C:\Program Files\Exchsvr\exchweb

If they are all the same, then look to the proxycfg Technotes.

Type proxycfg at the command prompt on the Exchange Server
Does it have the Exchange Server's IP address listed first?
Is the Enterprise Vault Server listed correctly in all its various forms? (e.g. NetBios name, Alias, FQDN, etc?)

Control files are all 6.5.7226.0

yes, proxycfg looks ok as well

In the frontend.ini file set proxy diagnostics to 1

replicate the issue and it should show you some trace information, paste that here.

Alternatively log a support call.

If this is a new V7 install,
Try installing extensions from V6 first..  then upgrade to V7....

I've installed V6.0 but still don't see the buttons. Am I supposed to?

Also, do I need to uninstall V6.0 before installing V7.0 as it doesn't copy the control files if I upgrade?

I've now upgraded to V7.0sp1 and still do not see the buttons. Any ideas anyone?

I've logged a support call but they haven't been any help so far

Problem solved.

Needed to install V7.0 before V7.0sp1 on the front-end as it references a V7.0 directory -  C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\exchweb\Enterprise Vault\7.0.0.1400
