Hi People,
I got the following error message daily in my EV server:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Enterprise Vault
Event Category: Storage Archive
Event ID: 7116
Date: 21/05/2014
Time: 3:14:49 AM
User: N/A
Computer: PROD-EV01-VM
Description:
Failed to access file 'N:\Enterprise Vault Stores\Vaultstore1 Ptn19\2014\05-20\A\0E9\A0E944E4BE4CE5A948E375A359EF3771.DVS'.
Reason: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation. (0x8007000e)
Operation: CREATE
Reference: SDW/SUPFor more information, see Help and Support Center at http://evevent.symantec.com/rosetta/showevent.asp?EvtID=7116
The SQL Server is installed on another server as VM with just 4 GB of RAM due to the fact that it is just Windows Server 2003 32 bit OS.
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Enterprise Vault
Event Category: Storage Archive
Event ID: 6259
Date: 21/05/2014

Computer: PROD-EV01-VM
Description:
Error adding text content to indexable itemFor more information, see Help and Support Center at http://evevent.symantec.com/rosetta/showevent.asp?EvtID=6259
and when I Google around some EV best practice, I wonder if this KB: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH74591 applies to my current condition which says:
Step 4: Vault Service Account Temporary folder size
All transaction requests from an Accelerator environment to the Enterprise Vault (EV) server and the Accelerator server utilize the Vault Service Account (VSA) temporary folder for temporary storage. The archiving processing also uses this folder for temporary processing such as the ConverterSandbox that converts archived items into HTML rendering for certain indexing and display functions. This folder needs to be able to grow large enough to accommodate Batch processing on the Accelerator server and Index (Search) and Storage (Export) requests on the EV server. Locating the VSA temporary folders on a hard drive with at least 40 gig free space availability is recommended for all EV and Accelerator servers for normal operations. When exporting large numbers of archived items, or just physically large items, for an Accelerator export, a minimum of 80 GB in free space is recommended.
The index partition is 1 TB in size, the free disk space is 400 GB.
The drive N:\ above is 500 GB free and my C:\ drive is 4 GB free ?
Any kind of help and explanation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Found a good match of your event id's and do a dtrace of storage archive to confirm that your content conversion is causing this. Solution upgrade :)

Do you have antivirus also installed on this? Does it have all the required/desired EV exclusions?
I don't think your resources are related specifically to disk space. Try the area of memory and resources in general (like 'handles' in performance monitor)

Merv, my EV is version 9.0.4 so I'm not in version 10 yet.

yes as it says in the technote is applies to 9.0.4( and 9.0.5 .) If you are planning on going to 10.0.4 than you should be good.
