Office 365 and Mail Archiving

Hello.  Thanks for the time.  I have a quick question in regards to Office 365 and mail archiving with Enterprise vault.  we have an on-prem EV and we want to test office 365.  According to the whitepaper journaling can still function as is.  However mailbox archiving will not since there seems to be a limitation by Office 365 where it does not allow EV to access the hosted Exchange environment.  What is the solution to go around this?  EV.cloud? and if so is there a whitepaper on that?  Thanks.

with Office365 instead mapi mailbox archiving like we do with traditional Exchange on prem, it is setup as a journal connector. If you use EV.cloud then users can still access their own personal emails. if you're using EV on prem then you're limited to the journaling functionality as you know it.
