Outlook 2010 not opening emails in Enterprise Vault

Hi People

I am new to this forum and cannot find any help over the web regarding this issue.

In our company we have Window 7 Enterprise OS. MS Office 2010, Enterprise Vault v9 and we have Service Pack 5 on Enterprise Vault 8.0.5

Everytime a user opens an 'archived email' in Enterprise Vault, Outlook crashes then if i attempt to go in Enterprise Vault explorer and try to open the same or any 'archived email' i get error message as shown below

Please advise any solutions i can try

Thanks

I don't think you need to worry about "finding" the log, since you're not getting Outlook crashes any longer.

I suspect the error you're getting now is because PSTDisableGrow is set.

Take a look at : https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/blogs/pstdisablegrow-again

Also, can you grab a client log with max tracing enabled (if the PSTDisableGrow stuff doesn't work) ?  The log files are in the users profile folder, eg C:\Users\robert_wilcox\AppData\Local\Temp  (That's for Windows 7)

Hmm so the error is saying the file already exists which is odd.
My first guess would be that it is an issue writing to the Temp directory.

Do you have any errors on the Enterprise Vault server that coincide with this at all?

Would suggest first of all try removing the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add In and then reinstall the Enterprise Vault 9 SP1 hotfix client

In addition, grab the EV Client log after the client has crashed (you'll have to locate it in your file system).  What Bit-ness is this?  Is it Windows 7 64 bit, and Office 2010 64 bit?  Are you opening the archived item from the inbox, a subfolder, a search folder, Virtual Vault??

Hi Rob

I am posting to inform you the fix you advised regarding the PSTDisableGrow

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH156088

This solution worked for my organisation, I got our systems adminsitrator to make the changes on our GPO settings and then a GP update /force to pull down the settings.

For the knowledge of others if you do a gpresult /h <filename>.html you need to be looking at as shown below
