Recovery of outdated (some days older version) EnterpriseVaultDirectory Database

Hi,

a SQL servers is crashed and we need to recover all the EV databases. No problem so far.

What happens, if the Backup of the EV Directory Database is from a different state than the EV Store and Fingerprint Databases is. Lets say 5 days discrepancy between the backup dates of Directory and the other databases.

During that period no new archives were created, but maybe new archived items/new folders were stored in the existing archives/databases.

Maybe someone can provide some ideas what the possible affects are.

is it possible to recover or repair the databses with EVSVR?

I would recommend you talk with support on this issue.

There are some options open to you but I have never seen them being used with suct difference in time in the database versions

Talk to support they can hel you discover the true depth of your tasks ahead and wakl you through it.

They will also offer advice on how to prevent this happening to you in future
