Services hosted - move/delete these.

Hello all,

I have the following 'issue'.
This is an EV9.0.4 environment, hosting both Journal and Mailbox archives.
There were 32 physical servers, 16 production, and 16 DR servers (Building block configuration)
Each server has it's own alias.
This environment has been 'consolidated'. There is no archiving anymore using this environment,
but it is still used for DA and users can still read from their archive.
There are now 16 VM's, each VM has 2 aliasses pointing to it, 1 prod, 1 belonging dr.
There are no tasks, or the tasks are set to stopped/disabled.

In the EV Console, under Enterprise Vault Servers you see:
EV001 (servername1) which is former prod server
EV101 (servername1) which is former belonging DR server
EV002 (servername2) which is former prod server
EV102 (servername2) which is former belonging DR server
etc.

When examining the services underneath, you see
EV001 = hosted
EV101 = running

The weird thing is that the hosted indexing service shows the indexlocations.

What I want to achieve:
Services be running on the prod names, and hosted on the dr names.
DR servers to be removed from console
clean up aliasses.

I believe that I will have to do some SQL editing to get the services to show as running on the
prod servers.

Anyone an idea how to achieve this, or knows of a KB article describing this?

I did find this entry, but not sure it applies:https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Enterprise-Vault/Issue-with-Services-Hosted/m-p/225195

Thanks!

GJ

Regards. Gertjan

Hi Gertjan,

Have you considered trying to disassociate the DR DNS aliases from the PROD EV servers and then run "Update service locations"?

If this doesn't work, have a look at below thread which is similar to the one you pointed to. Used it in a similar scenario and it worked.
