Anyone get a customer request like that before?

3 EV servers across a single EV site but multiple locations. Any ideas if we can hit one EV search url. I'm think of probably a re-direct scripts to find the correct EV server for the user?

What do you want to "hit" the URL?

The EV Outlook Addin will determine which URL to hit using it's own algorithm ....

Enterprise Vault Outlook Add In determines which URL to go to based on the Storage Service thats allocated to it, so if you have

EVServer1.yourDomain.com
EVServer2.yourDomain.com
EVServer3.yourDomain.com

Users who are on a vault store on EVServer1 will be directed to
http://evserver1.yourDomain.com/EnterpriseVault/somePage.asp

Users who are on a vault store on EVServer2 will be directed to
http://evserver2.yourDomain.com/EnterpriseVault/somePage.asp

Users who are on a vault store on EVServer3 will be directed to
http://evserver3.yourDomain.com/EnterpriseVault/somePage.asp


However regardless of what server your vault store is on, you could still go to any of those servers /EnterpriseVault/ web site and be able to access Search.asp / ArchiveExplorer.asp

The only exception to this will be if you are using Outlook Anywhere / RPC over HTTP where you specify the URL of an /EnterpriseVault/ directory to go to....

For instance you might publish through ISA the EnterpriseVault directory out to the internet like
http://mail.yourDomain.com/EnterpriseVault/ points to http://evserver1.yourDomain.com/EnterpriseVault/

So regardless of whether your vault store on evserver1, 2 or 3, the requests will always go to evserver1's webserver, and then you just specify that URL in the Desktop Policy for RPC over HTTP

Yes that works when you click the link Browser search from within the ev outlook plugin/owa. However what client wants is to manually publish a url e.g. Search.evserver.domain.com for all users. Anyway JW seems to get what I require

So what you are saying is that feature is out of the box, i can go to any EV Server even if my archive is not there and it will know how to find my own vaultstore.Thanks m8...that's Cool!
