If you are just upgrading the FSA agent and not the whole EV environment make sure you have the correct versions of vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe or when you run your .msi file you when get an error about version mismatches.

We had to call into Support to get v 9.0.30729.4148 of both files.  Support had previously supplied the .msi file for our FSA Agent upgrade but they were not aware that we also had to have a specific version of the two  .exe's you run prior to running the .msi file.

These errors occurs becausevcredist_x86.exe  and  vcredist_x64.exe are not installed in Windows2008 x64 File server.
When installing the FSA Agent using the Install FSAAgent wizard in the Enterprise Vault Administration Console,vcredist_x86.exe  and  vcredist_x64.exe are installedautomatically.

Copy vcredist_x86.exe  and  vcredist_x64.exefrom the following location on the Enterprise Vault server and install thembefore installing Enterprise Vault File System Archivingx64.msi.

<Install_Path>\EnterpriseVault\EVPush\Agent\vcredist_x86.exe
<Install_Path>\EnterpriseVault\EVPush\Agent\vcredist_x64.exe

To install FSA Agent 8.0 SP3 and above ,vcredist_x86.exe  and  vcredist_x64.exe are needed.
To installFSA Agent 8.0 SP1 and SP2, vcredist_x86 is needed.

If you do not have an SP5 EV environment then the correct version of those files will not exist.  You will have to get them elsewhere.
