Not sure about the IBM part of things, but take a look at the following:

You'll need a 3rd party extension tool to archive those items.

it's possible but not natively. you pretty much have two options for archiving instant messaging and social media and they are Globanet and Actiance. however, i would research them very carefully and make sure you choose the best one for you and the best one based on their future with symantec so you're not in a bad position 12 months from now.
