You have not by chance restricted Admin access on the Exchange Servers have you?

Right click the Exchange Server under Targets>domain>Exchange Server and look on the Admin Permission tab.  Is there anything there?

A few questions ...

Which version of Enterprise Vault are you doing this on?

Did you add all three operations?

Did you restart the EV Admin Service after adding a user to your newly created role?

I know the article suggests doing a "run as" to test out the changes, but I actually logged in to the EV server as the test user.  Which did you do?  Or are you running the console for your test user remotely?

I tried it out on my EV 9.0.2 server, and it worked a treat.

Hmm..  so let's start with a DTRACE of MMC when you don't have it working..  And post it here..  I'll check if I can see anything different to my server.

Did you add them as view-only admin?
