what Symantec product are you using? If you are using an enterprise program, which version are you using? If you are using Norton, please visit the Norton community at http://community.norton.com.

Thanks.

If possible submit the suspected file to Symantec for analysis.

http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/submitsamples.jsp

A new  definition can then be written to detect this threat. As always make sure you have the latest Windows Security patches for your OS, and latest virus definitions for your AV program.

After doing some searching I believe you have a variant of  W32.Virut.CF

http://www.threatexpert.com/report.aspx?md5=ff7c3afe8c7742222b245c7d7aba7339

Go ahead and submit the file as I stated before.

Download the Symantec Removal tool from here - http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2009-022016-4444-99

Hi, Im using Symantec Corporate 10.2 in our office, it was already removed. We just updated Symantec and downloaded some files. It was detected by Symantec as Trojan.Fakeavalert and it got removed instantly. Thanks

Hi did you run any free online scanners.  One you can run is from Trend Micro called House call, link is below.  See if that cleans up the mess.
Good luck.
