Dedupe factor with Oracle Data Guard shipped transaction logs

Hi All,

I learned that the Data guard has a capability of shipping transaction logs in such a way that it does not replace a whole log file but just the changes at the block level. I am just curious if this will allow us to backup those files with good dedupe as only blocks are changes instead of the whole file.

If someone has any exposure kindly share.

Unfortunately I don't have any link or whitepaper though when I spoke to one of the Symantec consultant he agreed to it and said it will offer a good dedupe rate.

Have you ever encountered or experienced similar scenario?
