Hi all,.

Media/Master server on Flex appliance has some persistent and nonpersistent volumes. Change or editing of some files in /usr/openv - example SIZE_DATA_BUFFERS or pd.conf are temporary. These files are normally saved to nonpersistent volume . Reboot/restart instance of Media server cause loose of this.

What is supported solution ?

Thanks

Hi @PetrHanz

The persistent storage location is generally held under the /mnt/nbdata location.

If you look around there on the particular instance I think you will find the correct place to update your files. For instance, the /mnt/nbdata/vxos directory holds persistent data for the operating system (e.g. the /etc files you may want to update) and /mnt/nbdata/usr/openv should be used for NetBackup changes.

As per the admin guide, below is process:

To create or edit a touch configuration file
1 Log in to the NetBackup application instance.
2 Create a new configuration file in the NetBackup administrator home directory,
or use the cp command to copy an existing configuration file from its original
location to the home directory.
For example:
cp /usr/openv/lib/ost-plugins/pd.conf ~/
3 Make changes to the file in the home directory.
4 Run the following command to install the file in its original directory or a
supported destination directory:
sudo /opt/veritas/vxapp-manage/cp-nbu-config <configuration-file>
<destination>
Where <configuration-file> is the file that you created or edited, and
<destination> is the directory where it needs to be installed.
For example:
sudo /opt/veritas/vxapp-manage/cp-nbu-config ~/pd.conf
/usr/openv/lib/ost-plugins
