Hi 

Symantec Appliance 5200 series can be used as master, media server.
What NBU components are installed on SYmantec Appliance 5000 series ? can this also be used as master, media server?

The 5000 series is a PureDisk based appliance, and is not capable of performing as a master or media server.  It operates as a target storage device for a Netbackup media server.

one more query, can it used as puredisk disk pool only or it can also be used as OST/ VTL ?

Puredisk only, no VTL.
