Hi,
Iam evaluating Puredisk for MS SQL 2005 Database in terms of Deduplication ratio. I loaded the database using Red-gate software and backed up using Backup Exec which has MS SQL agent. I backed up the same database using puredisk 6.6, but the backup data size is not same as backup exec. Backed up Data size is less in Backup Exec than Puredisk. I use to shrink the log file size before these backups. This is also true when increasing the data size in database and performing a differential backup using Backup Exec and puredisk. Data backed up using Backexec is less compared to puredisk.
I wanted to know is there any best practise for evaluating MS SQL 2005 database deduplication in terms of number of tables, data types, data loading etc.
Thank you!
Vishal
