Hyper,
NBU 5.0 hasn't come to end of life yet, well not until 31/03/2008.

Take a look at this link, it has all the end of life details:

NBU 6.0 - Release Date: October 3, 2005 / End of Support Life: To be determined

6.5 and 6.0 will probably have the same EOL just like 5.0 and 5.1 have the same EOL

6.0
Release Date: October 3, 2005
End of Support Life: To be determined

Release Date: June 7, 2004
End of Support Life: March 31, 2008

Release Date: December 1, 2003
End of Support Life: March 31, 2008

Sorry Colin,
I wasn't trying to trump your post. It appears we were working on the response at the same time. Smiley Happy

Thanks for the replies Colin & Bob ... and the link was useful.

To clarify the difference between EOL and EOSL, the product may EOL (ie no longer being sold or marketed) a lot earlier than it hits EOSL (no longer has standard support).

I guess we do not need to be worried that NBU 6.0 will stop support anytime soon, but if on the sales side they start to sell only 6.5 licenses, then I suppose the license keys given will also work on 6.0 domains.

Cheers!

Hyper,
When I had my NBU 5.0 enviornment I had NBU 6.0 licenses installed without any issues. It's the feature IDs that count, as long as these are active then you shouldn't have any issues.

You can export details of active license keys using the bpminlicense command.

If you're ever in doubt you can always speak to your Netbackup reseller or contact tech support.
