After upgrade to NetBackup 7.5 backup runs very slow

Hi there,

So one of the policies in my netbackup 7.5 environment has been running the backup very very slowly as per before the upgrade, all other jobs and polcies are fine, and from na networking perspective and stats/specs all is in order, all the other servers/jobs run at great speeds, but this particular job has gone down to a state where this is now running at around 2.4mb per sec where the others at times are doing lets say 100+ or even more, any ideas or known issues from a 7.5 perspective that could shed some light on this ?

Regards,

J

Looking at this problem, usually what comes to mind is that it should not be caused by an upgrade - because only one of the policies is affected.

You should look into what type of policy it is - filesystem, Database, or others? Compare the same type of policy against the other similar-type, and check their differences. It is likely to be a client issue, if both the slow & faster policies are using the same media server.

Best is to enable the bpbrm & bptm logs on your media server, refer to http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH18422
