Backup Exec 2012 and NetBackup

Hi,

I have recently purchased  Backup exec 2012 which is already taking backup for few of the servers and i need to take backup for UNIX server. I know Backup Exec does not support UNIX and have to go with NetBackup in order to protect UNIX server.

Can i have Netbackup along with Backup Exec in same environment?

I have one tape drive in environement which is already in used with backup Exec. Can i use same Tape drive for Netbackup in same environement and does it also need a license?

Nope..It will nt work.

Netbackup needs to know what the library is doing. BE also has its own way to handle the robot. The two programs were not designed to talk with each other and would eventually cause data loss/ failed jobs.
