Hi All,

I am new in the veritas netbackup. Is there any script in windows so that we can know the status of tapes say (capacity of tape, used space, and remaining space) per master server?

You could look at using bpmedialist.

capacity of tape: that comes down to your media type e.g. LTO3 400/800Gb native/compressed.

used space: can get from bpmedialist (or GUI or reports)

remaining space: good luck with that! You could estimate based on the above two values, but bear in mind that the actual amount of data that NetBbackup records as being saved to media depends upon the type of data being saved and the amount of compression it can be subjected to e.g. we have FULL LTO3 media with over 1Tb of recorded data on it - now *that* does not compute with the advertised values! (been covered *many* times on the forum).

Have you seen the Reports section in NBU Admin console?

Doubtfull about displaying Used Vs Available space, but otherwise you would be getting good amount of details about tapes present in environment with those reports.

Have a look at Tape Summary, Tape Lists Reports...

PS: If you have a SCRATCH pool with some tapes inplace, you no need to worry about media management. NBU does it for you..
